Courses

Annual Events

We run courses in the school holidays for anyone and everyone.

The days start at 9am and everyone gets involved with the mucking out and with our morning routine. You learn how to muck out and the importance of maintaining a comfortable bed.

Next we prepare the horses for lessons: groom your horse, learning about the importance of daily grooming and maintaining a clean grooming kit. Tack up your horse - gain confidence in tacking up and learn about the different parts of the bridle and the saddle. Now you're ready to ride.

You have 2 hours of riding per day - one hour in the morning and one hour again in the afternoon.

At lunchtime, after feeding the horses, it's time for your lunch - either bring a packed lunch or some money to buy your lunch from the local sandwich shop / fish and chip shop / corner shop. Enjoy lunchtime games, hosted by the yard volunteers!

After riding in the afternoon, skip out and top up water buckets. Afternoon events vary from day to day: one day you may be tack cleaning or another day you may be lunging or running horses.

The day finishes at 4pm, with certificates and feedback provided.

Our courses run over 3 days a week: you can book for 1, 2, or for all 3 days! The more days you book, the more value for money you receive!
